Finding a Product That Fits More People Can Drive Sales in Network Marketing

When I first started my business it was highly recommended to get products for around £1000 to get the first month of qualification done. I had no problem starting my business that way as I worked in banking. However I did not start selling the products right away. Instead I used as many things as I could.

The first nine years in my business we always recommended everyone start the business with getting this starter package for £1000 or else minimum buying another package at retail for £350. This of course made many people take a look at the business and then disappeared. Love when you have a great meeting with someone but then they won’t answer your calls, texts or even dove mail as if they disappeared from the face of the earth. I do not understand why people do not just write a message saying “I am not interested but thanks for the opportunity.” It would be so much easier just to communicate. Oh well, this is something I have just learned to accept and not question anymore as there is no answer to that one.

The interesting part when you lower recruitment rates is that you lower the exponential factor as well. So let’s say that because your barrier of entry is too high that means only 1 of 10 people join. If you were to lower the barrier of entry so that 2 of 10 people join then you might increase your team from 100 in one year to 1000 in one year. You would think it would double to 200 but no, because of duplication and an exponential effect you actually would grow to 1000 by just doubling the signup rate for every person.

When one of the ladies in the team (Suzanne Juliane) did her first £1000 in sales only via toothpastes that was when my mindset about this shifted. We always joked that you can’t get rich focusing on the toothpaste so we always focused on our products that were maybe £100-£350 in price. However, once the toothpaste took off we realised you can actually get rich by focusing only on whitening toothpaste.

The advantages of starting small far outweighs the disadvantages. Sure, you will end up getting many non serious people coming in as it is so easy to start. Most of them will quit. So you need to watch how you are spending your time. Make sure you do not give any person too much time without them showing you they are making progress. Make them prove themselves. Use groups for mass training instead of loads of individual messages until they are really taking it as serious as you. By focusing on the cheaper products you will end up getting so many people to join that there will be a few amazing stars in there. Lock arms with those stars and you will see your business flourish even more.

Challenge for you:

Focus on a new product every day for 30 days. Pick the cheapest product we offer and work your way up. Get your team jumping in with you so you are all promoting the same product on the same day. Marketing works so much better when people see similar messages over and over again.
